Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 May 2024  ·  Effective date: 1 May 2024
Summary: By using Schroop you agree to these terms. Key points: subscriptions give you 1 year of access, there is a 7-day refund policy, you may not share your account or reproduce our content, and we are governed by English law.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Schroop ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

These terms apply to all users — including free trial users, paid subscribers and visitors to our website.

2. Your Account

You must create an account to use Schroop. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. You may not share your account with others.

You must provide accurate, up-to-date information when registering. Schroop reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or that are used in violation of these terms.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Platform.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

3.1 Course Access

Purchasing a course gives you personal, non-transferable access to that course for 1 year from the date of purchase. After 1 year, you will need to renew your subscription to maintain access.

3.2 Installment Plans

Where installment plans are offered, the first payment is charged at the time of purchase and subsequent payments are charged monthly. If a payment fails, your access to the Platform may be paused until the outstanding payment is resolved.

3.3 Pricing

All prices are displayed on the course pages. Prices may vary by currency depending on your region. Schroop reserves the right to change prices at any time, but existing subscribers will not be affected during their subscription period.

3.4 Taxes

Prices may be subject to applicable taxes (such as VAT) depending on your location. Any applicable taxes will be shown at checkout before payment.

4. Free Trial

Schroop offers a 7-day free trial for new users. The trial does not require a credit card and will not automatically convert to a paid subscription. Trial access includes limited content as described on the course pages.

Each user is entitled to one free trial. Creating multiple accounts to access multiple free trials is a violation of these terms.

5. Refund Policy

We offer a 7-day money-back guarantee from the date of your first paid subscription. If you are not satisfied, contact us within 7 days of purchase at support@schroop.com and we will issue a full refund — no questions asked.

⚠️ Refunds are not available after 7 days from the date of purchase, or for installment payments after the second installment has been charged.

For installment plans where a refund is requested within 7 days of the first payment, only the first installment will be refunded and the remaining installments will be cancelled.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Schroop reserves the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms without notice or refund.

7. Our Content

All content on Schroop — including practice questions, video lessons, flashcards, mock exams, explanations and platform design — is owned by Schroop Ltd and protected by copyright law.

Your subscription grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the content for your own study purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, publish or otherwise use the content outside of the Platform.

8. Intellectual Property

The Schroop name, logo and all associated trademarks are the property of Schroop Ltd. You may not use our trademarks without our written permission.

Any feedback, suggestions or ideas you submit to us may be used by Schroop to improve the Platform without any obligation to you.

9. Limitation of Liability

Schroop provides the Platform on an "as is" basis. While we strive to ensure content is accurate and up to date, we do not guarantee that the Platform will be error-free, uninterrupted or that our content will result in any particular exam score.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Schroop shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform.

Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to Schroop in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account.

Schroop may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these terms, engage in fraud or abuse, or if we are required to do so by law.

On termination, your access to the Platform and all course content will end immediately. Sections of these terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property rights and limitation of liability) will remain in effect.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
